I'm a Baptist pastor and I agree with Daniel Whitfield's conclusion. Thanks for posting it. I wish the church had a more biblical approach on this issue and I fear that many "christians" are self-righteous instead of trusting in the righteousness of Christ alone. Since I pastor in the South and would lose my job if I confessed to drinking, I have decided not to drink for now so I don't have to hide anything. I state the biblical position whenever it comes up in conversation or in Scripture, but it isn't a hill to die on. Give your local Baptist church a chance if it is a Bible-believing one.
