Beer Birthday: Todd Ashman

Today is also the birthday of Todd Ashman, who turns 49. Todd is originally from Santa Rosa, but spent a number of years brewing at Flossmoor Station near Chicago, and then short stints at Titletown Brewing in Green Bay, Wisconsin and with Brewers Supply Group. Four years ago, Todd moved back to California to take a position brewing with a new brewery in Truckee, Fifty Fifty Brewing. Join me in wishing Todd a very happy birthday.

After I stopped at 50/50 for some grub and a drink I emailed the owners (Fellow Chico State Alumns) and commended them on great beer and food., I mentioned that if they could get a few recipes from their brewer for me, I would like to brew them myself. I had an email from Todd with recipes for their Golden Ale and their Trippel within a day or so. He was even nice enough to answer a few follow up questions that I had.

Happy Birthday Todd, I can’t wait to get back up to Truckee to try some of your barrel aged stuff.
