I was doing a Google search for beer news and found an interesting juxtaposition of items – a link to your post right above this link:

“Christians Consider Drinking Beer Acceptable”

Here’s an excerpt:

“ChristiaNet.com, the world’s largest Christian portal with twelve million monthly page loads, recently asked, ‘Is it wrong for a Christian to consume beer?’ President of ChristiaNet, Bill Cooper, responds, ‘Christ warns of the results of drunkenness.’

Out of 5,200 Christians surveyed, 51% do not feel that drinking beer is wrong. In fact, many people in this group did not feel that drinking any alcohol was wrong, ‘Drinking a little bit is not wrong, but drunkenness is.’ They believed that everything, including alcohol, should be in moderation, ‘One beer never hurt anyone, if you lose control and overindulge then you are wrong.’ One survey taker even responded, ‘If drinking a little bit is wrong, then why did Jesus drink wine?’”

Of course, some smaller percentage must have answered that it is wrong to drink beer in any amount…but the article doesn’t give a figure for that.

I’ve certainly had more spiritual experiences in pubs than in churches.
