You&#039;re right, of course, that we should get corporate money out of political debates and out of politics generally.  The potential this presents for undue influence is very real and, sadly, demonstrable.</description>

Can any behemoth US company afford not to play the political game to make the rules more favorable to them?  It is much easier changing laws than actually making profit from simply selling products.</description>

The debates are in my view a foolish waste of time for everyone since they serve mainly as a vehicle to incite post debate punditocracy whilst the moderators and candidates do their best to keep any substantive discussion happening.  That said, I think the worry about the subtle, subversive A-B message is itself a bit silly. Whatever message A-B is trying to send, if any, is far more likely to be &quot;what good corporate citizens we are&quot;. Big Whoop!</description>
