Regarding your Oct. 10 post on the Ranier Brewery redevelopment, there is some dispute about
the site of the "original" Ranier Brewery. Judging from the photos, your piece about Sabey
Corp.'s acquisition of the old Ranier site seems to refer to the later, more prominent location
(3100 Airport Way S.) which featured the large, red stylized "R," and more recently Tully's
green "T."
That is not the site slated for development. The location that Sabey acquired is the
older brewery at 5840 Airport Way S. which dates to 1903. It is a massive structure(s)
representative of its industrial era which curently houses, among many other tenants,
Georgetown Brewing, makers of Manny's Pale Ale, Roger's Pilsner, Bob's Brown Beer and Chopper's
Red Ale; darn tasty stuff which I sample freely whenever I'm in Seattle.

Here's a link to a P-I story with photo:

BTW, I really enjoy your site. It's a comprehensive, one-stop source for anyone interested in
the craft brewing culture, particularly those of us with a West Coast bias.
