Tuesday’s ad is for Norton, from maybe the 1950s, but possibly earlier. From the late 1800s until the 1980s, poster art really came into its own, and in Europe a lot of really cool posters, many of them for breweries, were produced. I’ve been posting vintage European posters all last year and will continue to do so in 2020. This poster was created for Brasserie DesChamps Celles which was located in Celles, in the Hérault region of southern France. I wasn’t able to find much information about the brewery, except that it must have closed some time ago, and the town had an exhibition of the town’s history, including the brewery, in 2013 and/or 2016. I don’t know who the artist is who created this poster.
