Beer In Ads #2880: Brasserie Flad Albi

Sunday’s ad is for Brasserie Flad Albi, from the late 1800s, I think. From the late 1800s until the 1940s, poster art really came into its own, and in a lot of really cool posters, many of them for breweries, were produced. This poster is for Brasserie Flad Albi, which was a brewery in Albi, a town located in southern France. It was founded in and closed in 1964. I’m not sure when the poster was created, but one of the bridges depicted was built in 1866, so it must after that. It’s also an early example of being meta since the man (Gambrinus?) sitting by the keg is holding up a bottle with a picture of him on the label.
