Monday’s ad is for Bières Excelsior, from 1940. From the late 1800s until the 1940s, poster art really came into its own, and in a lot of really cool posters, many of them for breweries, were produced. This poster is for “La Grande Marque des Bières du Nord,” or “the big brand of northern beers” (according to Google translate,” though more likely something along the lines of “The Beers of Northern France.” It was created by artist J. Sogno.
