Beer In Ads #3254: Brasserie Fraikin-Courard

Sunday’s ad is for Brasserie Fraikin-Courard, from 1900. From the late 1800s until the 1980s, poster art really came into its own, and in Europe a lot of really cool posters, many of them for breweries, were produced. I’ve been posting vintage European posters all last year, and will continue to do so in 2020. This poster was for Brasserie Fraikin-Courard, although I couldn’t find any information about the brewery, other than it was located in “Roclenge-sur-Geer (Limbourg),” which “is a section of the Belgian commune of Bassenge located in the Walloon Region in the province of Liège,” although “Roclenge sur-Geer was transferred to the province of Limbourg (mainly Flemish) in 1839, but returned to the province of Liège in 1962.” The poster was created by Maxim Fraikin.
