On Sunday, the last day of the Oregon Brewers Festival, I was set to fly home, but had time to stop by the Hopworks Urban Brewery for their OBF Recovery Brunch. They had cooked up three special dishes for the brunch and conjured up two beery mixed drinks just for the event. There were quite a few beer folk in attendance which was cool so I could say so long to a number of people in one place. And the food was terrific.
Outside the Hopworks Urban Brewery Sunday morning.
Where old kegs, sawed in half, were recycled as planters filled with beautiful flowers.
Assistant brewery Jeremy, brewmaster Christian Ettinger and brewer Ben Love, all from Hopworks.
The HUBmosa, orange juice with their Kolsch.
Notice the very cool copper tables, where art is created organically by people’s glasses.
Lisa Morrison, the Beer Goddess, enjoying her HUBmosa. Damn they were good.
They also were serving a Bloody Mary made with their lager.
Lisa ordered the “Hangover Helper Pizza,” a pizza amde with scrambled eggs, ricotta and jack cheddar cheeses, and peppers (green and red), onions and chives.
Mark and I ordered the “Egg and Cheese Burger,” which was a cheeseburger topped with a fried egg, served with tater tots and bacon. The other item on the brunch meno was “HUB Blueberry Beer Pancakes,” which were blueberry pancakes made with HUB’s Kolsch. Yum.
