Unlike last year, no breweries dropped off the list, primarily because consolidation in the market cased many to rise a couple of places, making room for two new breweries on the list.
Jeff Alworth says
Actually, Widmer/Redhook got the ax (they’re now styled Craft Brewers Alliance). I haven’t a clue why–the language was totally opaque. It seems that as the market evolves, the Brewers Association has to get ever more Byzantine with their definitions. What gives?
Jeff Alworth says
Sorry, they got axed from the list of craft breweries, not this one.
Ainz says
Just to clarify: This is total barrel production?
J says
Brent, yes it’s based on total barrels produced in 2008.
Mark says
I thought that Goose Island is now part of Craft Brewers Alliance? Why the inclusion separately?
