Brews By the Bay 2008

September 14, 2008

On the weekend of September 13-14, the San Francisco Brewers Guild held their annual beer festival on board the Jeremiah O’Brien, a World War II era Liberty Ship anchored at Fisherman’s Wharf. I missed Saturday but stopped by on Sunday to enjoy some beer brewed in San Francisco.

The Liberty Ship Jeremiah O’Brien.

The beer flag was flying.

Brenden Dobbel, brewmaster at Thirsty Bear, holding up the ship.

The San Francisco skyline behind the ship’s bow.

There was also live music on the ship.

Looking toward the stern, with Alcatraz in the background.

With beer stations throughout the ship.

Ben Spencer, from Magnolia, and Jesse Houck, from 21st Amendment.

A last look at the crowded ship.
