January 16, I attended a lovely little beer dinner in my neck of the woods, at the beautifully situated Horizons restaurant in Sausalito. It was a four course affair, plus hors d’ouerves, paired with five Lagunitas beers. The night was clear and we had a fantastic view across the bay of the twinkling lights of the San Francisco night skyline. The food and pairings were terrific, too.

The first course, marinated sea bass ceviche, avocado, tomato and house-made corn chips, paired with Sonoma Farmhouse Saison.

The main course, sliced New York strip steak, with Yukon gold and sweet potato gratin in a demi-glace made with “The Kronik,” and paired with the Lagunitas Censored, a rich copper ale.

Our dessert of apple and onion bread pudding, with slivered almonds, apple chips and “Brown Shugga” caramel, which was also paired with Brown Shugga, Lagunitas’ holiday seasonal.
