Friday’s ad is for Vejle Pilsner, from 1920. From the late 1800s until the 1940s, poster art really came into its own, and in Europe a lot of really cool posters, many of them for breweries, were produced. This poster is for Vejle Pilsner, a beer from Bryggeriet Vejle, in Denmark. It was founded in 1858, but acquired in 1898 by Østjyske Bryggerier. I think the poster is from before the merger, but I’m not certain. Google translates the text at the bottom to “it must have father,” so it’s probably something like “My father must have this.”
