Thursday’s ad is for Pabst, from 1897. In honor of the Chinese New Year, and more specifically because it’s the year of the goat, this ad is for the Bock Beer made by the Pabst Zythepsary. Zythepsary, by the way, is an archaic word for brewery. Happy New Year.

Zythepsary! A sobriety test word!

Well said, Atron! Quick Google search for definition revealed “brewery” + Greek origin for type of beer + boil.
The Professor says
Ahhh…Pabst Bock! Brings back memories.
A sixpack of Pabst Bock was the very first beer I ever purchased for myself back in the spring of 1969, when I was almost of age. ;–)
From that day forward, I never bought “regular” beer.
It was actually quite good, although in the late ’70s the recipe changed and while it was still a dark brew, it seemed to have lost all of it’s formerly distinctive roasted character. Soon after that, it was discontinued altogether.
