This was part of the “Pitch In!” anti-littering campaign undertaken by Anheuser-Busch and other major brewers during the heyday of Ecology. This one may have been around the bicentennial in 1976, given the Statue of Liberty and the flag-waving.

Too bad that there still too many idiots around who’ve not yet gotten the message – the unfortunate fact these days is that the vast majority of them are on the low-income scale (which I see all the time from trash tossed from car windows). Immigrants also don’t have much of a clue, either – the sad thing about that is that we don’t teach them “not to” as part of their assimilation.
