Wednesday’s ad is yet another one for Acme Beer, another in the series of “High I.Q. (It Quenches) ads. This one was done by famed pin-up artist George Petty, who did several ads for Acme. In contrast to yesterday’s matronly ad, this one shows an attractive woman, dressed provocatively, resting in the crescent moon high above the world with a glass of beer in her hand. I can’t imagine Miller was very happy about this ad. But I like it just fine, but that’s probably because of my low I.Q.

Jay’s too self-deprecating – that’s a great ad that the Miller execs probably never saw, unless one of their West Coast reps/distributors sent it to them. Whether it quenched or not is something only the 80-somethings could answer 🙂
