Beer In Ads #3802: Pleasant Surprise For Someone Like You

July 30, 2021 By Jay Brooks

Friday’s ad is for “Rainier Beer,” from the 1950s. This ad was made for the Seattle Brewing & Malting Co., who made Rainier Beer, and was later known as the Rainier Brewing Company of Seattle, Washington. This one shows a woman blindfolding a man and giving him a bottle of beer, which is certainly a pleasant surprise in my book. But given that the tagline is “Pleasant surprise for someone like you,” I have to ask. How did they know?
