Friday’s ad is for Vraiment Délicieuse la Blonde Bière de Diekirch, from around 1890. From the late 1800s until the 1980s, poster art really came into its own, and in Europe a lot of really cool posters, many of them for breweries, were produced. I’ve been posting vintage European posters all last year and will continue to do so in 2020. This poster was created for Brasserie par actions de Diekirch, which was founded in 1871, and located in Luxembourg. In 2000, the brewery merged with Mousel, which itself had been founded in 1511. In 2002, they were acquited by AB-InBev. The poster was created by Belgian artist Armand Rassenfosse.
And below is a photograph I took of the ad in a beer museum in Luxembourg.
