Congrats to the winners (#s 1 & 2 are favorite “styles” of mine…can’t wait till the sampler box with the winners is released).

Kudos to Boston Brewing too, for sponsoring such a competition and supporting the world of home brewing in such a tangible way.

Boston Brewing is itself a winner…quite a success story, and they deserve a big tip of the homburg for their huge contribution in bringing good, traditional, character filled beer into the mainstream.
How odd it is to me that they are ironically beginning to take a lot of heat from sections of the ‘beer snob’ crowd because they have graduated to being such a big player in the beer game.
They may not be micro anymore, but like Sierra Nevada, will always be a “craft” brewer (in the truest and most meaningful sense of the word) no matter how big they get.

I’m so happy for Mike. He’s a friend of mine from New Hampshire and a fellow member of Brew Free or Die homebrew club, and he really deserves this. He’s an amazing brewer.

    Hello Jay:
It was great talking with you at the brunch and fun to pass on the baton.

The choices are a little more bold this year. I’m just hoping the beer is better.
