Tuesday’s holiday ad is for Hamm’s from sometime in the 1950s, most likely. The bottom right-hand corner of the ad reference Hamm’s sponsorship of the Edward R. Murrow show Person to Person. That show aired from 1953 to 1961, so the ad must be from the same range of time.

The Hamm’s TV commercials of that era (featuring the bear) were superb – & Hamm’s was one of the best cheap beers of its day. When I was a kid in Fresno & we didn’t have a lot of $$, my folks drank it much more than Bud (& I got the occasional “nip”).
My roomie would love to see Hamm’s come back, with the jingle we grew up with! He inherited the royalty rights from a deceased aunt/uncle, but he hasn’t collected a dime for at least 5 yrs. Same probably applies to whomever has the rights to the Pabst jingle of the same era.
