Beer In Ads #345: Here’s A Message From Milwaukee

April 11, 2011 By Jay Brooks

ad-billboard
Monday’s ad is for Schlitz from 1952 featuring the once popular hobby of Ham Radio operating. With, presumably, the missus thoughtfully bringing in a tray of Schlitz and a pilsner glass. Apparently, that’s the message from Milwaukee, not whatever’s coming over the airwaves.

I would like to mention that ham radio is still popular. There are now more than 700,000 licensed amateur radio operators in the US, more than any time in history. For more information, visit the web site of our national organization, the American Radio Relay League, at http://www.arrl.org. 73, WB0OEW.
