Beer In Ads #461: 7th Inning Schlitzstretch

October 24, 2011 By Jay Brooks

Monday’s ad is for Schlitz from 1957. It was part of their Schlitzerland ad campaign, one of my absolute favorites by any brewery. I just love the artwork. And the baseball theme seemed appropriate as we just watched game 5 of the World Series. So come on, “Be a Schlitzer. Be refreshed.”

BevMo just got some of the original 60’s formula Schlitz in. Wow, it’s bloody awful. Gives you a headache every time, too. Hard to believe Pabst took such a cool little beer, which Schlitz was a couple of years ago, and completely screwed it up.

    No joy in Schlitzerville.
