Beer In Ads #909: The Geneseecret

June 13, 2013 By Jay Brooks

Thursday’s ad is for Genesee beer, from around the late 1969s or 70s. Showing a couple fishing while perched on a pier, with a Genesee cooler between them. The Geneseecret is apparently is “The Good Time Taste of Genesee Beer.” They don’t even appear to be paying any attention whatsoever to their fishing.

I think that discussion’s about where he’s gonna use his other “pole” after dark. That beer was described by a friend of mine who was @ Cornell in those days as “better off left in the horse”, so I abstained. But “Genny Cream”, which I’ve had occasionally, is a tolerable light ale.
