Beer Saved the World

March 22, 2012 By Jay Brooks

Here’s an interesting infographic on beer — both history and factoids — created by Online Bachelor Degree Programs, presumably to drive traffic. But as I’m a sucker for infographics, I’ll happily fall for it. At least they listed their sources at the end. Enjoy!

Hats off to the lads who came up with this and to you, too, Jay, for sending it out to us!

Hella cool & tx for sharing! The “lads” who created that most likely were barely out of diapers when the craft brew revolution began in the USA.

Can’t fault them for not being up to date given the rate at which new breweries are opening, but it appears they’ve got the totals of the “regional breweries” and “microbreweries” transposed. There are approx. 7 times more “under 15k bbl.” microbreweries than “15k-6m bbl.” regionals – they have it backwards.

For example, in 2010, the Brewers Association had it at:

    Brewpubs 1,033
    Microbreweries 603
    Regional Craft Breweries 80
    Total US Craft Breweries 1,716
