Monday’s ad is for De Vlaamsche Brouwerij, from around 1910. From the late 1800s until the 1980s, poster art really came into its own, and in Europe a lot of really cool posters, many of them for breweries, were produced. I’ve been posting vintage European posters all last year and will continue to do so in 2020. This poster was created for De Vlaamsche Brouwerij, which was located in Lauwe, Belgium, which is a small town in West Flanders, and part of the municipality of Menen. It was founded in 1897 and closed in 1975, and was also been called the “Vlaamsche Brewery” or ”Brewery Frik.” I don’t know who the artist was that created this poster.
