Beer In Ads #814: It’s Your Birthday

March 3, 2013 By Jay Brooks

Sunday’s ad is for Falstaff, and it’s a simple ad, from I know not when. It says only “It’s your birthday!” and shows a bottle of Falstaff being poured into a mug. It looks 1940ish or 50ish, but that’s just a guess. But since it’s my birthday, it felt like the right ad for today.

This was not really a ad, but an actual mechanical greeting card. When closed small amber colored glass/plastic beads filled the glass. When opened the man is drinking the “beer” and the beads pour into his mouth. Go to http://www.a-falstaff-collector.com/greetingcards.html for a photo of the full card.
Enjoy your daily emails. And also “Happy Birthday” Don
