Monday’s ad is for “Rainier Club Beer,” from 1948. This ad was made for the Seattle Brewing & Malting Co., who made Rainier Beer, and was later known as the Rainier Brewing Company of Seattle, Washington. This one is using the grammatically questionable “Enjoy The Beer You KNOW Is Clearest Lightest Driest” as its tagline. But that’s not just some bold claim, it’s been “PROVED by Independent Laboratory Tests.”

Sunday’s ad is for “Rainier Special Export,” from 1936. This ad was made for the Seattle Brewing & Malting Co., who made Rainier Beer, and was later known as the Rainier Brewing Company of Seattle, Washington. This one is from after the end of prohibition, and uses the tagline “In The West It’s Rainier.” But it’s also promoting their new “Cap-Sealed Cans.”
Beer In Ads #3789: A Lift Without A Letdown
Saturday’s ad is for “Rainier Fully Aged Ale,” from 1936. This ad was made for the Seattle Brewing & Malting Co., who made Rainier Beer, and was later known as the Rainier Brewing Company of Seattle, Washington. This one is from after the end of prohibition, and uses the tagline “A Lift Without A Letdown.” The ad also claims it’s the “Largest Selling Ale on the Pacific Coast.”
Beer In Ads #3788: Old In Experience — New In Spirit
Friday’s ad is for “Rainier Beer,” from 1933. This ad was made for the Seattle Brewing & Malting Co., who made Rainier Beer, and was later known as the Rainier Brewing Company of Seattle, Washington. This one is from just after the end of prohibition, and uses the tagline “A Nationally Famous Beer Since 1878.” The ad shows a worker and a man with a pipe in a suit sharing a beer at what looks like a construction site. The ad also includes this curious text. “Rainier salutes the ‘New Deal’ — with the finest veer ever to bear its name.”
Beer In Ads #3787: Proper Ageing — Thorough Ageing
Thursday’s ad is for “Rainier Beer,” from 1933. This ad was made for the Seattle Brewing & Malting Co., who made Rainier Beer, and was later known as the Rainier Brewing Company of Seattle, Washington. This one is from just after the end of prohibition, and uses the tagline “A Nationally Famous Beer Since 1878.” But the ad shows a nautically dressed couple lounging with some beers with a background of sailing ships in the water behind them, which is somehow extolling the virtues of “Proper Ageing — Thorough Ageing [sic].”
Beer In Ads #3786: And Here’s Rainier Dark
Wednesday’s ad is for “Rainier Beer,” from 1933. This ad was made for the Seattle Brewing & Malting Co., who made Rainier Beer, and was later known as the Rainier Brewing Company of Seattle, Washington. This one is from just after the end of prohibition, and is promoting their “Rainier Dark Beer.”
Beer In Ads #3785: Rainier The Beer Of Summer
Tuesday’s ad is for “Rainier Beer,” from 1975. This ad was made for the Seattle Brewing & Malting Co., who made Rainier Beer, and was later known as the Rainier Brewing Company of Seattle, Washington. This one is a later ad, but with the MLB All-Star game earlier today, this one seemed appropriate, with baseball paraphernalia and claims that Rainier was the “Beer of Summer.”
Beer In Ads #3784: Cheer Up And Ease Up!
Monday’s ad is for “Rainier Beer,” from maybe the 1950s. This ad was made for the Seattle Brewing & Malting Co., who made Rainier Beer, and was later known as the Rainier Brewing Company of Seattle, Washington. This one is, I think, a reproduction of an older ad for a sign, made to look distressed. I can’t tell if the fisherman is offering a beer to the fish, or if he’s taunting him with it.
Beer In Ads #3783: The Top In Any Roundup
Sunday’s ad is for “Rainier Beer,” from maybe the 1950s. This ad was made for the Seattle Brewing & Malting Co., who made Rainier Beer, and was later known as the Rainier Brewing Company of Seattle, Washington. This one is, I think, was intended for a billboard given it’s shape. And that’s in part why I’m guessing it’s from the 1950s, plus I believe that’s when they were promoting “Rainier Aged Beer.”
Beer In Ads #3782: Rainier 1907 Calendar
Friday’s ad is for “Rainier Beer,” from 1907. This ad was made for the Seattle Brewing & Malting Co., who made Rainier Beer, and was later known as the Rainier Brewing Company of Seattle, Washington. This one is, I think, the cover of a 1907 promotional calendar produced for Rainier Beer. I’m not entirely sure that’s what it is, but the image is consistent with other calendars from around the same time period.
