Baseball’s Prices For An Ounce Of Beer By Stadium

October 24, 2013 By Jay Brooks

baseball
Today’s infographic shows each of Major League Baseball’s teams with their prices for beer equalized so they be compared more easily. The chart was compiled and created by Benchwarmer Sports. I don’t know if this is a coincidence or not, but yesterday the Boston Red Sox and the St. Louis Cardinals began the 2013 World Series, and their two stadiums are the most-expensive one to buy a beer. Hmm.

I don’t buy that chart at all! What beer types were they using for comparison?
This summer, I visited the new ballpark in St Louis & the new one in Minneapolis, plus Safeco in Seattle, & AT&T & OCo in the Bay Area where I live. SF’ prices are the highest by far! I got 12-oz bottled SNPA in St Louis for $7; local craft brew (Schlafly) for $8/16-oz draft & the vendor was shocked when I tipped him). The way to do this properly is to compare price lists for each park side-by-side for similar products, which I’m sure the chartmakers didn’t!

Chart must be on a draft, and that varies by size., I know from the stadiums I have been in this summer none of costs match with the list I had for a 16 oz cans or bottles served in the seats by your vendor, hawking the stairs.

    Marlins $9/Beer .56/oz.
    Nationals $9/Beer .56/oz.
    Rangers $8.50/Beer .53/oz.
    Rays $8/Beer .50/oz.
    Cubs $7.75/Beer .48/oz.
    Braves $7.50/Beer .47/oz.
