Beer In Ads #904: Falstaff Fishing

June 6, 2013 By Jay Brooks

Thursday’s ad is another one for Falstaff, and is also by the well-known illustrator J.F. Kernan. This one shows a trio of men fishing from a boat in a river. It looks like one of the guys just hooked a big one, but looks none too sure of his ability to reel him in.

The guy holding the pole knocked over his beer (look behind his right leg) by rocking the boat when he stood up; note also that the fishing line doesn’t extend to the fish’s mouth. That scene is so unreal – serious fishermen would laugh their asses off on viewing it!
