Beer In Ads #3761: The Entire Family

Friday’s ad is for “Rainier Beer,” from 1910. This ad was made for the Seattle Brewing & Malting Co., who made Rainier Beer, and was later known as the Rainier Brewing Company of Seattle, Washington. This one shows a crying child complaining to his mother that as the “family provider” she has neglected to keep on hand a supply of Rainier Beer. And you probably know: “Anybody who gives it a fair trial, from Baby up to Grandpa, prefers it as a beverage.”

Beer In Ads #3760: Here’s Looking At You!

Thursday’s ad is for “Rainier Beer,” from 1903. This ad was made for the Seattle Brewing & Malting Co., who made Rainier Beer, and was later known as the Rainier Brewing Company of Seattle, Washington. This one shows a woman taking a sip of beer while looking at her reflection in the back of a beer bottle, with the tagline. “Here’s looking at you!”

I also found another version of the ad with a more green tint to it.

Beer In Ads #3759: Open With Delight

Wednesday’s ad is for “Rainier Export Beer,” from 1905. This ad was made for the Seattle Brewing & Malting Co., who made Rainier Beer, and was later known as the Rainier Brewing Company of Seattle, Washington. This one shows a man with a Dali-esque mustache, about to open, trying to open, or contemplating opening a bottle of Rainier Export Beer with this wonderful tagline. “Open with Delight. Taste Satisfaction.”

Beer In Ads #3758: Malt Rainier

Tuesday’s ad is for “Malt Rainier,” from 1909. This ad was made for the Seattle Brewing & Malting Co., who made Rainier Beer, and was later known as the Rainier Brewing Company of Seattle, Washington. This one is for “Malt Rainier,” which is billed as “The Pure Malt Tonic for Mothers Who Require Additional Nourishment and Strength.” The ad also shows a woman and her baby and it’s not clear if she’s taking the malt tonic to give her extra nourishment and strength to feed her baby, or if she’s feeding it directly to her child.

Beer In Ads #3757: Pure Drink Around The Maypole

Monday’s ad is for “Rainier Pale Beer,” from the early 1900s. This ad was made for the Seattle Brewing & Malting Co., who made Rainier Beer, and was later known as the Rainier Brewing Company of Seattle, Washington. This one shows a group of children around a maypole, although the pole itself is a giant bottle of beer. And this obviously trying to bolster beer’s reputation pre-prohibition, with the tagline “Pure Air, Pure Food, Pure Drink are essential to healthy growth, for Pure Drink get Rainier Pale Beer.”

Sunday’s ad is for “Rainier Club Extra Pale Beer,” from 1934. This ad was made for the Seattle Brewing & Malting Co., who made Rainier Beer, and was later known as the Rainier Brewing Company of Seattle, Washington. This one is a reproduction sign of ad for Rainier focusing on their “Aged Beer.”

Beer In Ads #3755: In The West It’s Rainier Beer

Saturday’s ad is for “Rainier Special Export Pale Beer,” from 1943. This ad was made for the Seattle Brewing & Malting Co., who made Rainier Beer, and was later known as the Rainier Brewing Company of Seattle, Washington. This one was published in the “Pacific Northwest Grocer & Meat Dealer” for May of 1943. The final tagline is interesting. “Washington’s Oldest Industrial Institution.”

This one shows a young girl and her grandfather toasting with a bottle of Rainier Beer, cultivating the “Rainier Beer Habit.”

This one shows a lovely hop bine pattern with an illustration of a bottle of Rainier Beer with the tagline “The Brew of All Brews.”

Wednesday’s ad is for “Rainier Pale Beer,” from the 1890s. This ad was made for the Seattle Brewing & Malting Co., who made Rainier Beer, and was later known as the Rainier Brewing Company of Seattle, Washington. This one is a reproduction sign showing a Gibson Girl with a tiny glass of beer and this wonderful text, “Bubbling with Life and Sparkling with Snappy Zest.” Who wouldn’t want a beer that tastes like that?
