Today’s infographic is How Ales & Lagers are Fermented, and though I don’t know who created it, I found on Planet Beer. The illustration shows some of the basic differences in the brewing process between ales and lagers.

    when Ale yeast dies it falls to the bottom.

      When ale yeast run out of food their metabolism slows down, they become dormant and fall to the bottom. Death is usually a misnomer in normal fermentation

    Apparently Lagers don’t form a krausen. Guess I’ve been doing it wrong all these years.
