Our 58th Guinness ad shows a farmer and his pigs, with one in particular being significantly larger, presumably from drinking Guinness. After all, as the tagline reminds us, it’s “Guinness for strength.” Or it may be the man carrying the largest pig who is able to do so thanks to the strength-giving properties of Guinness.

Our 57th Guinness poster by John Gilroy shows four of the zoo animals — the seal, kangaroo, toucan and pelican — frolicking on a sunny beach. The seal has a pint of Guinness balancing on top of the beach ball he’s balancing on his nose and the ad’s slogan is “Guinness — the ideal summer resort.”

Our 56th Guinness poster by John Gilroy shows the iconic pint of Guinness with a face being very tired, much like myself, and needing to rest on a red comfy chair. The slogan is “Have a Guinness when you’re tired.”

Our 55th Guinness poster by John Gilroy shows a crab grabbing in a pint of Guinness in his pincers, pulling in his “Catch of the Day.”

Our 54th Guinness poster by John Gilroy shows a kangaroo whose joey has been replaced by a pint of Guinness. Though surprisingly she looks quite pleased about the switcheroo.

Our 53rd Guinness poster by John Gilroy is quite a simple one, showing a tilted half-empty glass of Guinness with the slogan “Guinness is good for you.”

Our 52nd Guinness poster by John Gilroy shows a farm scene with bossy racing the farmer to the tractor, where a Guinness bottle and pint glass is there for the taking. It uses the tagline “My Goodness My Guinness.”

Our 51st Guinness poster by John Gilroy was, like last week’s, probably from World War 2, and shows a group of soldiers practicing their grenade throwing, with one of them substituting a bottle of Guinness for a grenade. Their commanding officer certainly looks surprised to see the Guinness fly.
