Monday’s ad is for “Rainier Pale Beer,” from the early 1900s. This ad was made for the Seattle Brewing & Malting Co., who made Rainier Beer, and was later known as the Rainier Brewing Company of Seattle, Washington. This one shows a group of children around a maypole, although the pole itself is a giant bottle of beer. And this obviously trying to bolster beer’s reputation pre-prohibition, with the tagline “Pure Air, Pure Food, Pure Drink are essential to healthy growth, for Pure Drink get Rainier Pale Beer.”
