- 1st Place: Big Nugget, Alaskan Brewing
- 2nd Place: Angel’s Share, Lost Abbey
- 3rd Place (tie): Doggie Claws, Hair of the Dog
- 3rd Place (tie): XI, Uinta Brewing

What an amazing event! I was fortunate to be there early and was able to sample each of the listed beers – fantastic! For my taste, the Angel’s Share was the top barley wine – bourbon barrel aged to perfection and enjoyable through and through. However, at this level, you have to know we’re splitting hairs, as the Big Nugget was everything you’d want in a glass – rich, creamy, warming. 2008 is only a year away.
