Ballentine’s packaging at that time (around the 40’s) was so cool. They made several different products — and all were packaged in copper cans with different oval labels on them.

I’ve only seen the Ale, Beer and Bock cans. The other Ballantine products, with similar oval label designs- India Pale Ale, Brown Stout, Dark Beer, Porter – were all bottled and/or draught only, I’ve always thought.

I’ve always thought the use of faux Venn Diagrams was the best thing about Ballantine’s branding. When, in days of yore, I taught Intro to Logic, I would always explain Venn Diagrams by referring to Ballantine and those kids always knew what I was talking about!
