Beer In Ads #964: El Toro Bravo

August 28, 2013 By Jay Brooks

Wednesday’s ad is for Schlitz Malt Liquor, from — guessing by the pull-tab — around the 1960s or early 70s. The bull logo and the skirt design around the bottom look positively Aztec. But the bull in the ad, he just looks mad.

For sure a wild-eyed bull; I think Jay has the time correct – but that ad loox to be one that ran in Latino magazines/newspapers or was made into posters to post in windows/on walls of markets/liquor stores in Latino neighborhoods (primarily in NYC, parts of CA – especially LA & Central Valley -, & the Southwest – primarily Texas).
