Our 97th Guinness ad shows an original sketch for ad that may or may not have ever been used. It shows a rhinoceros in the zoo, with the zookeeper peering around the corner as the rhino holds on to his bottle of Guinness for dear life. I think it’s safe to assume he’s not getting that beer back. The slogan for the ad is “My Goodness, My Guinness.”
Guinness Ad #96: A Nose For Guinness
Our 96th Guinness ad shows the iconic Guinness toucan with a man sporting a toucan-like nose of his own. They say pet owners resemble their pets, and this would seem to support that theory. They both seem to have a nose for Guinness. I guess it really is a “Lovely day for a Guinness.”
Guinness Ad #95: Where’s My Guinness
Our 95th Guinness ad originally ran during World War 2, and shows a painter camouflaging a gun turret. He’s done such a good job that he can’t find his beer in all the camouflage. The tagline is “My Goodness — where’s My Guinness?”
Beerstrology Sign: Sagittarius
While I don’t put any stock in astrology, in 1980 Guinness put out a calendar with each month representing one of the zodiac signs, and I thought it would be fun to share these throughout the year.
Sagittarius, the archer, is from November 22-December 22. To learn more, see:

Guinness Ad #94: Mine’s A Guinness
Our 94th Guinness ad is a bit of a pun, showing the iconic Toucan underground wearing a miner’s helmet, leaning on a pick axe in one hand. In his other hand is a pint of Guinness with the slogan “mine’s a Guinness.”
Guinness Ad #93: Now, I Feel I’ve Earned A Guinness
Our 93rd Guinness ad shows a very prolific fisherman who’s clearly waaay over the catch limit for the day. But I guess he had to fill the boat with fish before he felt entitled to a Guinness. I confess I work that way, too. I’ll deny myself a beer until I finish an article or even a post to motivate myself to get it done. Somehow it tastes sweeter — or hoppier — that way.
Guinness Ad #92: Have A Snack
Our 92nd Guinness ad features the iconic seal carrying two trays of food, urging thirsty Guinness drinkers to “Have a Snack” as he balances a pint of Guinness on his nose. “My Goodness: indeed.
Guinness Ad #91: Guinness Gets Home
Our 91st Guinness ad apparently is advertising home delivery, or at least being available at home, by featuring a deliveryman walking down a residential street with a couple of cases of Guinness while virtually everyone living there is out on the front porch, balcony or window wondering aloud; “Is that my Guinness?” At the bottom of the ad it reads “Guinness gets home.”
Beerstrology Sign: Scorpio
While I don’t put any stock in astrology, in 1980 Guinness put out a calendar with each month representing one of the zodiac signs, and I thought it would be fun to share these throughout the year.
Scorpio, the scorpion, is from October 23-November 22. To learn more, see:

Guinness Ad #90: Guinness Rugby
Our 90th Guinness ad is a sports-themed one with, naturally, the familiar slogan “Guinness for Strength.” The Guinness rugby player, presumably bolstered by his drinking Guinness, is running for a score wile keeping the entire opposing team at arms length — literally.
