Wednesday’s ad is for Schlitz, one from their long-running “Just the Kiss of Hops” series, and apparently published around 1960. It looks to me like those luscious red lips on the raven-haired beauty are about to kiss the hops, rather than being kissed by them, as the tagline suggests.

Imagine this ad twisted into something for a West Coast IPA. Would be fantastic.
I tried some Schlitz last year. Said “just a kiss of the hops” on the can. Very good beer.
Now Pabst is brewing Schlitz using its original formula — before Schlitz screwed with it in the early 70′s to accommodate a continuous brewing process.
