Monday’s ad is for Oranjeboom, from 1935. From the late 1800s until the 1940s, poster art really came into its own, and in Europe a lot of really cool posters, many of them for breweries, were produced. This poster is for the Oranjeboom Brewery. It was founded in Rotterdam, in The Netherlands, in 1690, but moved to Breda in 1990. Five years later they sold to InterBrew (now ABI) who closed the brewery in 2004. This poster was created by Dutch painter Jan Wijga, who did at least two similar posters for Amstel.
