Tuesday’s ad is for Rheingold, from 1953. In the late 1940s and early 1950s, Rheingold recruited a number of prominent celebrities to do ads for them, all using the tagline: “My beer is Rheingold — the Dry beer!” In this ad, American actress (and mother of Lorenzo Lamas) Arlene Dahl, ask if you’d like her to sketch you and then says to smile, and a big smile “just as though I’d offered you …” Rheingold Extra Dry.

Beer In Ads #2522: My Beer Is Rheingold Says Hoagy Carmichael

Monday’s ad is for Rheingold, from 1948 and 1958. In the late 1940s and early 1950s, Rheingold recruited a number of prominent celebrities to do ads for them, all using the tagline: “My beer is Rheingold — the Dry beer!” In this first ad from 1958, American composer, pianist, singer, actor, and bandleader Hoagy Carmichael, gives some gold advice about luck being a major part of the game, then contrasts that by saying luck plays no part of Rheingold Extra Dry, because it’s good every time.

He also did an earlier ad, in 1948, and he was still playing golf, this time worrying over choosing the wrong club, but then says he never worries about picking the wrong beer, which is always Rheingold Extra Dry.

Sunday’s ad is for Rheingold, from 1948. In the late 1940s and early 1950s, Rheingold recruited a number of prominent celebrities to do ads for them, all using the tagline: “My beer is Rheingold — the Dry beer!” In this ad, American actress and singer Dorothy Lamour, lists off her favorite things and among them was Rheingold Extra Dry, which claims she discovered when she was working as a singer in New York.

In the late 1940s and early 1950s, Rheingold recruited a number of prominent celebrities to do ads for them, all using the tagline: “My beer is Rheingold — the Dry beer!” In this ad, American stage, film, and television actor Franchot Tone, offers that if you help him fix his car, he’ll treat you to a glass of Rheingold Extra Dry.

In the late 1940s and early 1950s, Rheingold recruited a number of prominent celebrities to do ads for them, all using the tagline: “My beer is Rheingold — the Dry beer!” In this ad, American actress Dorothy Malone, offers that if you don’t have plans for lunch that she’ll be happy to take you to some of her favorite places for a glass of Rheingold Extra Dry.

Beer In Ads #2518: My Beer Is Rheingold Says Paul Douglas

Thursday’s ad is for Rheingold, from 1953 and 1948. In the late 1940s and early 1950s, Rheingold recruited a number of prominent celebrities to do ads for them, all using the tagline: “My beer is Rheingold — the Dry beer!” In this first ad from 1953, American actor Paul Douglas, discusses what makes him smile, and you won’t be surprised to learn that one of those things is Rheingold Extra Dry.

He also did an earlier ad, in 1948, and in that one he struggles with some of his favorite things, like color or book, but has no trouble with his favorite beer, which naturally is Rheingold Extra Dry.

In the late 1940s and early 1950s, Rheingold recruited a number of prominent celebrities to do ads for them, all using the tagline: “My beer is Rheingold — the Dry beer!” In this ad, French actor, cabaret singer and entertainer Maurice Chevalier, who presumably doesn’t come to New York too often (he did live in France after all), compares drinking Rheingold Extra Dry when he is in New York is like “greeting an old friend.”
