Beer In Film #66: Beer The Musical
Today’s beer video is the trailer for Beer: The Musical, which is apparently a 30-minute animated musical that was created by Marshall Slayton in 2008. Here’s the description from YouTube. “Two friends locked in an epic struggle to fight the evil powers that seek to over tax their sole source of solace…beer. Oh yeah… there are songs too…” ANother sourcs says it’s “about two friends who are fighting against a corporate slum-bag’s attempt to overtax alcohol and bring their favorite pastime (drinking) to an end.” Ever heard of it? Me neither.
Beer In Film #65: The Big Lebowski — Lookin’ Out My Back Door
In case you didn’t know, today is “The Day of the Dude,” a holiday in Dudeism, in honor of the cult classic, The Big Lebowski, so today’s beer video is a scene from the film. It’s one of the few in the movie in which Lebowski (played by Jeff Bridges) is drinking a beer, in this case the fictional Meichtry Draft Beer while driving and smoking a joint. The soundtrack to the scene is Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Lookin’ Out My Back Door.” Abide.

Today’s beer video is short film of Brooklyn Brewery co-founder Steve Hindy explaining the reasons he left his job as a journalist to make beer. STeve also recently published his second beer book, The Craft Beer Revolution, this one on the history of craft beer from an insider’s perspective. The film was created by Transient Pictures for the brewery’s 25th anniversary.
