Today’s infographic highlights Canadian Beer, and was created by the Brewers Association of Canada. In honor of Canada Day, which is celebrated today by our friends, neighbors, partners and allies to the north, I thought we should also celebrate Canadian beer, as well.

Today’s infographic is about The Healthiest Alcoholic Drinks, and was created by Policy Expert, a British insurance website. I hate the use of a calories as a measure of health, it makes no sense to me. Figure out how many calories you want and then do the math. Don’t pick the stuff with the lowest calories, especially if doing so means sacrificing flavor. Drink less, but drink better. But in the next chart they’re a little more reasonable, and it’s great to see in the “health facts” the statement that drinking in moderation tends to result in your living longer than folks who either abstain or drink too much.

Today’s infographic shows beer in the state of Maine, or at least Maine Craft Beer. It was created by Carla Companion, a.k.a. The Beer Babe, for American Craft Beer Week. I missed Maine’s statehood day, which was March 15, when they became the 23rd state in 1820. But today in 1995, Allagash Brewing opened in Portland, Maine.

Today’s infographic is another one filled with some questionable information, Binge Drinking. This one’s from the point of view Best Drug Rehabilitation, a company that makes money selling rehab to people with drinking or other problems, so they have a vested interest in making it sound like everybody is a binge drinker. Their definition of binge drinking, for example, is “consuming alcohol until the blood-alcohol concentration is 0.08% or more.” So just getting drunk is the same as binge drinking. Uh-huh, that makes sense.

Today’s infographic is another unusual one, showing the amount of alcohol that the average cruise ships takes with it for a seven-day cruise for 2,000 people. It’s broken down by type, and the number of beer bottles far outweighs any other type. Not surprisingly, it was created by the CruiseWeb, a trave website specializing in cruises.

It’s from a nice blog post entitled How Cool is Your Beer? on Fermented Waves, written by the assistant brewer at Boundary Bay Brewery in Washington. The chart he shows of Suggested Serving Temperatures is from Randy Mosher’s book Tasting Beer.
