December 9, 2018 By Jay Brooks

Sunday’s ad is for Miller Brewing, from 1942. This ad features yet another magic bottle of Miller High Life and a full pilsner glass along with a chess board. I think the bottle and glass might be pieces on the game.

December 4, 2018 By Jay Brooks

Tuesday’s ad is for Miller Brewing, from 1943. This ad from a Milwaukee Brewers’ game program and features a scene on a warm day at the ballpark. Who wouldn’t be thirsty in that situation?

Beer In Ads #2843: This One Time At Band Camp

December 3, 2018 By Jay Brooks

Monday’s ad is for Miller Brewing, from 1941. This ad features a drum majorette leading a marching band (yes, I’m a former marching band geek) in a parade. Presumably, the parade is in Milwaukee since the tagline at the bottom of the ad is “Welcome to Milwaukee.”

Beer In Ads #2842: Fishermen … Enjoy Life

December 2, 2018 By Jay Brooks

Sunday’s ad is for Miller Brewing, from 1941. This ad features a fisherman in a boat drinking a Miller High Life. Like yesterday’s hunter, apparently outdoor activities are better with beer, and it’s certainly hard to argue with that. He definitely looks happy.

Beer In Ads #2841: Reach Out For Finer Flavor

December 1, 2018 By Jay Brooks

Saturday’s ad is for Miller Brewing, from 1940. This ad features a man hunting pheasant, and he’s reaching out to his dog, who’s brought back his kill. Then the tagline reads. “Reach out for Finer Flavor!” I’m not sure that comparing reaching out for a beer is analogous to reaching out for a freshly killed bird, but what do I know?
